• Early 19th Century Figural Brass & Steel Library Scissors With Case Sheath

Offered in this auction are a pair of excellent early 19th century library scissors with figural brass sheath!   This pair are 7" long overall in the sheath, the scissors are 6".  The set weighs 104 grams, or just over 3 ounces.  Condition is excellent, normal wear and aging on the steel blades.  The blades cut very well, probably German steel.  The sheath is in excellent condition, figural decoration on one side, blank lozenge suitable for engraving if so desired on the reverse.  Smiling imps on each handle.  Full figure helmeted goddess on one side, Athena or Minerva?  A fine set in a excellent case for any number of collections, or a super gift for one!     Please bid with confidence, our 23rd year on !
